FCS provides clothing assistance through a voucher system. These vouchers allow the client to
shop at participating area thrift stores. Vouchers are delivered to member congregations for
FCS provides emergency funds to assist individuals and families in times of financial hardship.
These funds are available for rent, utilities, and other special needs such as medicine and
eyeglasses. Funds are dispensed directly to the service provider.
FCS maintains a food pantry at Knox Presbyterian Church which provides non-perishable and fresh
food to clients in need. Food donations come from member congregations, individuals and local food
drives. Additional critical food is purchased when needed as funds are available. Church volunteers
bag and deliver a week's supply of food to clients. (Pantry Needs)
Meals on Wheels (MOW)
Volunteers deliver meals five days per week to homebound individuals who are unable to prepare or
arrange food for themselves. AAA (Area Agency on Aging) refers individuals for this program. The
FCS Meals on Wheels coordinator arranges for delivery of meals in Falls Church.
Volunteers pick up donated furniture in the greater Falls Church area only then deliver it to families in the Falls Church area served
by FCS. Furniture is stored until needed. Area social service agencies and member congregations
refer clients to this program. Crews of volunteers delivery these household items on Saturdays.
